Mother’s Words to Us

Mother's Words to Us

Across the centuries, Mary has spoken. Not loudly. Not often. But she has spoken, to children in fields, to widows on hillsides, to nuns in cloisters, to villagers in wartime. Most of what she said has been forgotten by the wider world. Almost none of it is taught in school. Some of her words have been kept alive only by a handful of pilgrims and a single grateful village.

Each Saturday, the day the Church has always quietly reserved for her, we sit with one of her sentences. One thing she said, somewhere small, to someone the world has never heard of. We look at where she said it, what she meant, and why those words still find us, all these years later.

She has been speaking for two thousand years. She still is.
